This is the biggest project on the Reserve since it was created, by Trentham Lions Club, in Xxxx.

 

Two rounds of Community Consultation in late February and in mid-April have indicated strong support for the plans. The initial draft plans were published in the April edition of the Trentham Trumpet and promoted on the Quarry St Reserve and Trentham Connections Facebook pages.

In collaboration with Council Officers and in consultation with the community, both directly via meetings and through our website & Facebook page, the Committee of Management is pleased to share the current plans for the upgrade of the Pavilion in Quarry St Reserve, Trentham.

 

The plans were developed by one of our new Committee Members, Steve Kelly, a qualified Architect who owns Measured Design Studio based in Trentham and has generously offered his services to the Committee & Community pro-bono. Steve has created an amazing plan for the renovation, incorporating many ideas submitted at a community meeting in February 2021. After lots of conversations in community and in collaboration with Hepburn Shire, this plan was adjusted to fit within the allocated Hepburn Shire Budget.

 

A Quantity Survey of the plans has been completed. It was hoped that this would enable to project to be covered by the funds allocated in the past two budgets, to a total of $250k.

The “Extended Footprint” version of the design could not be fully funded by Hepburn Shire Council. The Committee believes that it will add significant value and functionality to the Pavilion, so we have submitted an application for Regional Infrastructure Funding for the sum of $80 000 to complete the project.

We wish to express our thanks for the overwhelming support from local community organisations who have provided letters of support for our application. These have included affirmation of our vision for the community from Mary-Anne Thomas, our local Member of Parliament and Bradley Thomas, CEO of Hepburn Shire Council.
